Starting therapy with Synde marked a turning point in a dark and very stuck time for me. She is humorous and completely judgement free. Dr. Acks has helped me work through getting diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and then learning how to live with it. This was a transition that I could not have successfully done without her. Additionally, she has helped me recover from PTSD and find ways to cope with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I have had many therapists throughout the years, and I can honestly say that Dr. Acks is the one I have enjoyed working with the most and who has pushed me to grow and be the best person I can be.

We are BIG BELIEVERS in therapy for not only children but for adults as both my wife and I have a long history of being in therapy to expand our self-awareness and to be better parents of our 3 adopted boys.
Our eldest son, Jayden, adopted at 3 from the Foster Community had many a challenge as an abandoned and neglected infant having 5 care givers before we adopted him. While Jayden grew up in a loving home with 2 other adopted brothers, his personal challenges came to roost in his mid-teens with drug use and gang activity. Dr. Acks was his therapist at the time and new full well of some of the challenges our Jayden was addressing with his early history of parental abandonment.
Because of Dr. Acks long experience with teen issues of this nature, we were able to identify a program, out of state, that could help our son get through these challenging times and end up in a better place. Indeed, all that we set out to do happened and our 20 year old son Jayden is now leading a clean and sober life, working full time in the great Lone Star state of Texas.
Jayden’s little brothers, now teenagers, have also had the benefit of time with Synde Acks and have been an extremely stabilizing influence in their lives.
